Who are the Ansar?
Allah describes the Ansar as those “who give preference [to others] over themselves, even if they themselves are in need. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul – it is those who will be the successful.” [Qur’an, 59:9]

Ansar of Madinah of the Past
The Ansar, meaning "helpers” or “supporters” in Arabic, were the residents of Madinah who supported the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the refugees from Makkah. After the Hijrah, they welcomed the Muhajirun with open hearts, offering unconditional help for the sake of Allah and following the Prophet’s ﷺ example of generosity and kindness.
