Operations and Outreach Manager

Job Summary

The Operations and Outreach Manager is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of Ma’ruf Dallas while advancing the organization’s community presence, partnerships, and volunteer engagement. This position supports the day-to-day functioning of the organization and leads community outreach, volunteer engagement, and event planning efforts that expand access to resources, strengthen partnerships, and uplift those we serve. Serving as a primary point of contact for community organizations, faith-based partners, volunteers, and stakeholders, the Operations and Outreach Manager helps cultivate trust, coordinate services, and mobilize community support. Through thoughtful planning, collaboration, and execution of programs, outreach initiatives, and events, this role helps ensure Ma’ruf Dallas delivers compassionate, dignified, and effective support to our community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organization Operations
    • Manages daily activities to ensure efficient office operations. Coordinates staffing, coverage and procedures to ensure needs of the facility are met in a timely and effective manner.
    • Develops, reviews, revises, submits and implements policies, procedures, and objectives for practice that are aligned to the organization’s objectives.
    • Communicates with various departments to coordinate services, resolve operational problems, and improve quality of services.
    • Provides information to partners, community groups and referral agencies about programs provided by the organization.
    • Investigates, resolves and documents resolution of client issues or complaints.
    • Manage youth educational programming.
  • Community Outreach
    • Create and implement a community outreach plan designed to inform the community of services and resources offered through Ma’ruf Dallas
    • Plan, develop, organize, and implement outreach events to advance the mission and goals of Ma’ruf Dallas.
    • Stay abreast of community resources and procedures for referring clients to appropriate resources
    • Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders and organizations. 
    • Attend community meetings that pertain to collaboration opportunities, homeless prevention and other resources that may address our community needs.
    • Network with community agencies for the purpose of obtaining information, coordinating service referrals and maximizing the assistance for clients.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact with our faith-based community partners
    • Assist with recruitment of volunteers.
    • Work with external partners to enhance and increase programming for Ma’ruf Dallas clients & beneficiaries.
  • Volunteer Management 
    • Process volunteer applications and manage volunteer database 
    • Recruit, schedule, train and manage all volunteers
    • Process grassroots and Community Partner fundraiser inquiries. Ensure funds and reports are submitted in a timely manner. 
    • Develop Ambassadors and circles of influence for Ma’ruf Dallas amongst volunteers
  • Other 
    • Assist with fundraising and outreach events 
    • Lead the planning and execution of the organization’s events
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working in a community outreach or community engagement position
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit business operations and federal/state grant and contract funding mechanisms
  • This position requires an enthusiastic, community-driven individual with a positive attitude.
  • Possession of project management skills is preferable
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality is required at all times

    Case Manager

    About the job

    This role is responsible for the coordination and delivery of services, including direct financial assistance, case management, reporting, and community outreach for the Emergency Assistance Program.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides direct case management services to clients such as needs assessments, service planning, provision of referrals, and follow-up with clients
    • Enforces policies and procedures for delivery of direct services to clients.
    • Enters data into the internal system, coordinates, tracks and reports activities and outcomes for services provided.
    • Submits reports as required and in a timely manner.
    • Conduct client intake and assessment; generate service plans; work with clients to ensure short-term goals are met; conduct home visits; participate in case conferences
    • Assists clients with enrollment in social services, preparation for employment, job applications, job placement and retention
    • Request, plan and track direct assistance expenditures on cases and ensure adherence to budgetary and compliance requirements
    • Provides interpretation and translation as needed
    • Completes documentation to meet standards, grant and donor reporting requirements
    • Maintains client case files and detailed case notes

    OTHER DUTIES:

    • Is knowledgeable of department and agency policies in order to properly inform clients of same.
    • Interacts with clients in a professional manner, making sure that appointments are honored or rescheduled if needed.
    • Keeps client information confidential
    • Provides information and referral services.
    • May train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.
    • Support the Missions, Values, and Vision of Ma’ruf Dallas.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred.
    • Previous social work or case management experience is preferred.
    • Previous case management experience 1-3 years preferred; Experience working with diverse populations and refugee social services programs preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the community
    • Ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and ethnicities
    • Computer literate and experience with MS Office suite of products
    • Strong organizational and time management skills required
    • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions for clients
    • Ability to listen to clients with empathy and to establish trust and safety
    • Bilingual in a language reflected in the current client population is preferred (Dari, Arabic, Urdu, Burmese, Spanish, American Sign Language)

    Operations & Outreach Coordinator

    The Operations & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for implementing on the organization’s strategic outreach plan designed to build and maintain relationships with key groups, individuals and the community at large. The position promotes awareness about Ma’ruf Dallas’ financial assistance services, food pantry, career and training programs, collaborations, and other programs available to clients. The Operations & Outreach Coordinator will work with donors, community partners and other parties vested in the organization’s mission.

    Marketing Intern

    Job Description
    The Marketing Intern position will execute and provide support for Ma’ruf Dallas’ programs by
    assisting in marketing and communications efforts. The intern will gain a broad exposure to the
    inner workings of a high-functioning nonprofit organization.
    He or she will assist the Marketing Manager in overall administration and logistics of the
    organization’s public facing communications. The intern will perform work directly related to the
    core mission of Ma’ruf Dallas.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage key social media projects from idea through delivery including identifying key
    measures of success
    • Design engaging graphics and video for each new social media campaign
    • Monitor trends and analytics in social media and apply that knowledge to increase the
    presentation and response of the ministry message

    • Create and pre-plan social media schedule
