Client Story: Irum
Irum came from a tumultuous home situation which caused her separation from her spouse. She came to American in 2018 from Pakistan with her two children; a son, who has a disability, and her daughter. After arrival, she lived with her sister, who is a widow, but their circumstance was grim and she was losing hope
Irum found Ma’ruf Dallas and felt a spark of home after meeting with her Case Manager. As part of her success plan she received rental assistance and was able to find a full-time childcare job. Ma’ruf Dallas also enrolled her in our driving education class and Car Program. She was also enrolled in the Training for the Future program.
Irum graduated as a Medical Assistant in October 2022 and was able to get a job at a Medical Clinic soon after. Now she’s working full-time, enjoying her new career and able to see the light at the end of this difficult journey.
